Stanislav Zábrodský

Stanislav Zábrodský (1994) studied in the Intermedia studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and at Indonesian ISI Yogyakarta in the sculpture studio. He lives and works in Prague.

In his current artistic practice he focuses on working with composite materials, which he uses as synthetic simulations of time-spanning geological processes - events taking place over millions of years. He uses this metaphor not only to project and understand the geological processes of the past, but also to abbreviate and suggest the geological processes of the future.

The fossils here are not natural non-human relics, but traces of human activities of the newly defined Anthropocene. The newly formed fossils are the residue of the industrial revolution, technological products and cultural artifacts. Objects with this perspective represent a shift in time and attempt to awaken perspective - the awareness that we live in future geological layers and formations.

Since 2023, his work has been exhibited in various Czech galleries such as Studio PRÁM, Berlinskej Model, and Polansky Gallery. Internationally, Stanislav has presented his work at ACUD Gallery (Germany), IRL Gallery (NYC), Spazio Volta (Italy), and will soon be at Art Cologne
